St Mary's Cathedral, near Faua Jetty, is worth visiting for its beautiful rose gardens, stained glass and vaulted ceiling.
Nadi
Not very swimmable, but decent for sunbathing or a game of beach rugby, Wailoaloa is home to a cluster of budget resorts.
Around Tahiti Nui
This rather wide (by Tahiti standards) beach is popular with families and has public facilities. The sand is white-grey.

Popular day trip from Teahupoo. Walk into blackness till your eyes adjust then swim to the back through the icy waters.

Just east of downtown, this bright orange and blue temple generally has a caretaker around to let you in for a look.

Plage du Mahana Park has calm waters and a snorkelling reef close to shore. On weekends there are kayaks for hire.
