This modern Middle Eastern–style mosque is a 1981 rebuild of the Ming dynasty mosque that was entirely destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. It's a little tired looking but with its green dome topped with a crescent moon and a crystal chandelier at the entrance, it still looks striking. Non-Muslims cannot enter the prayer hall, but there's a small gallery devoted to the history of this and other well-known mosques in China and the world.
