Mupapa Slave Tree

Zambia

Marked by a plaque, the shade from this ancient pod mahogany 'Mupapa Slave Tree' was historically used as a meeting place by Swahili slave-traders. It's a bit neglected nowadays but can easily be spotted by the steel fence surrounding its girth.
