Creel Mound

West Virginia

This 35ft-tall burial mound is one of fifty prehistoric mounds – the Kanawha Valley Mounds – that once stretched along the Kanawha River near present day Charleston. You'll find interpretive markers and a short path to the summit of the mound, which was likely built around 500 BC.
