The last stretch of untouched coastal prairie on Galveston's East End, this 684-acre tract has been set aside for conservation purposes and is open to visitors. Bird-watching and fishing are popular, and if it isn't flooded, there are a few small hiking trails winding through it.

Access is on Boddecker Dr, about halfway between Seawall Blvd and East Beach.
