Since 1899, this has been Golden Gate Park's home where the buffalo roam – though technically, they're bison. SF's mellow, well-fed herd rarely moves – but when their tails point upwards, you may be about to witness bison bucking. On the very rare occasion of a stampede, they can reach speeds of up to 30mph. The paddock is off John F Kennedy Dr, near 39th Ave.
