A large oak tree saved the lives of three people in Bay St Louis during Hurricane Katrina. The three clung to the tree as a 40ft tidal surge raged around them. The oak did not survive, but its history lives on in the form of a sculpture – carved from the oak and gracefully soaring toward the sky beside the bay.
