Once a Newbury St staple, this venerable art gallery is one of many that have relocated to SoWa. Presenting the work of some headline-grabbing artists (sometimes local, sometimes international), this starkly minimalist gallery mostly shows oil paintings, as well as sculpture, mixed media and prints. In addition to Milton Avery, whose estate is represented here, Alpha has special shows of masters such as Max Beckmann and Pablo Picasso.
