Divriği Castle

Central Anatolia

Divriği's castle, sitting high on the craggy mountainside above town, was built by the Seljuks in the 13th century. The ruins can't be entered due to ongoing restoration work, which unfortunately seems to be heading towards a complete rebuild of the walls. Hopefully we're wrong as the crumbled walls and watchtowers of this once mighty citadel used to be a highly atmospheric spot to take in the view.
