Housed in a restored 1902 Sino-Portuguese mansion, Satun's excellent little museum was originally constructed as a temporary home for King Rama V during a royal visit. It was subsequently used as a headquarters by the Japanese military in WWII. Now it features informative displays on local history, customs and Muslim life in southern Thailand. There are good English captions.
