The Royal Household is looking to appoint someone to the role of Head of Digital Engagement in its communications department. The successful candidate will provide digital and editorial leadership to a small team of digital media specialists, drive the content strategy of the Royal Family's digital channels, and work to continuously improve their digital presence. They also have to have people management experience, and an ability to lead and motivate others.

The role involves leading and developing the family's digital communications strategy, and ensuring that they make effective use of a range of platforms. Whether they're covering a state visit, award ceremony or royal engagement, they'll be tasked with ensuring that the channels consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences. They will also work with an eye to the future, honing and shaping the digital offering through understanding new technologies and stimulating creativity.

The successful candidate will have previously managed and edited websites and social media networks for a high-profile organisation and will have an understanding of how to maximise their benefits and minimise any risks. They will be required to have exemplary and compelling writing and editorial skills, and expertise in designing digital content for different audience groups, purposes and formats.

The salary offered is between £45,000 and £50,000 (€52,941 and €58,823) for a 37.5-hour working week over five days, Monday to Friday. The benefits package offered includes a 15% employer contribution pension scheme, 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays, free lunch and access to further training and development.

"The reaction to our work is always high-profile, and so reputation and impact will be at the forefront of all you do," the job listing says. "And having your work shared around the world will be the biggest reward."

The vacancy closing date is Christmas Eve and further information is available here.
