Giuseppe Fontana Ethnographic Museum

A carefully composed house-museum reconstructing the life and times of historic Sappada in one of the oldest houses in the village. Peopled by straw characters in period dress the display shows the hard, communal life the Sappadini lived. The interior is heavily blackened by smoke from the open fire as people smoked their hams at home while they went about their normal life!
