Casa Finlay

Camagüey

Dr Carlos J Finlay (1833–1915), Camagüey's other hero, made medical breakthroughs in discovering how mosquitoes transmit yellow fever. Calling this place – his birth house – a museum is a stretch, but on a good day staff can enlighten you on his life story and scientific feats. There's a splendidly unkempt indoor patio.
