In the northeast corner of the palace, this classical Chinese arrangement of pavilions, halls and bridges was considered one of the finest gardens in northern China. The garden was rebuilt in 1893 after its destruction in 1860. The 'interests' are aesthetic motifs such as the effect of running water, ornamental calligraphy and corridor paintings.
