Many people are missing travel, but some are really going the extra mile to live the experience. There was the woman back in June who bought an inflatable plane and created a security checkpoint in her house, and now the latest example is a TikTok-famous Dad who decided to purchase a couple of Delta plane seats to remind him what it was like to fly.

“My dad used to travel very frequently for his job. Since the pandemic hit has he been working from home. He has been really missing travel lately, and one day sent me an eBay link via text to Delta first-class seats, saying he wanted to buy them (with a laughing emoji). I totally thought he was kidding, until only a couple of days later when he sent me photos of the seats sitting in our living room,” Steve Simao’s daughter Annisa told Lonely Planet.

Annisa said that it is a rare occurrence when her father buys something for himself, which made the purchase even more surprising. “He is quite a goofy guy, so if there was anything he would buy, I suppose this wasn't entirely too surprising. I am more so surprised my mom let him put airplane seats in our living room!” The airplane seats even recline and come with a pull-out tray table you can eat on, which according to Annisa has actually been extremely useful.

Annisa decided to share the fun turn of events on TikTok, knowing that people on the platform enjoy a good laugh. The first video shows her dad sitting in the seat with a blanket around him, watching an airline safety video and giggling to himself. It got such a great response that Annisa made a few more, with one showing them surprising her Grandmother with a FaceTime call that makes it look as if they are in an actual plane.

“The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive on those platforms, and has gotten far more attention than I could've ever imagined!” Ed Bastian, the CEO of Delta, was so impressed that he responded with a personalized video, offering the family some first-class seats in the future.
