“I’m excited to be teaming up with an iconic name like Lonely Planet.” said Modak. “We’re at the start of a new era in travel. There’s so much potential to bring the world to an audience eager to once again engage with it.”

Philippe von Borries, Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Red Ventures and Head of Lonely Planet commented: “I’ve been a huge fan of Sebastian’s writing. His reporting from around the world as well as his virtual city tours for the NYT over the past year have continued to inspire people even as they were stuck home. He shares our honest and independent view on the world, beautifully told."

Look out for Sebastian’s work on Lonely Planet in the coming months. You can follow him on Instagram and Twitter.
