Long considered the iconic American road trip novel, it’s heavily based on Kerouac’s own adventures through the United States and Mexico, with the main character Sal standing in for the writer himself. Along the way, he meets other writers and artists of the postwar Beat generation.

To celebrate the inspirational book, Orbitz have created a series of dreamy, vintage-style travel posters featuring some of the famous locations in the books coupled with Kerouac’s memorable descriptions. They help bring the America of the 1940s and 50s - and of the iconic novel - to life.
