A new spiraling tower is due to open this spring, and it will give visitors a panoramic view over the Wadden Sea National Park on the west coast of Denmark.

The Marsh (Marsktårn) Tower will rise 25 meters above ground, and will take the form of a single corkscrewing staircase that terminates high above the vast surrounding tidal flats. Designed by the Bjarke Ingels Group and currently under construction, it will be possible to see all the way across to Esbjerg and Rømø from its viewing platform in good weather conditions.

The Marsh Tower will be situated beside a new motorhome site, Marsk Camp, which will be able to accommodate 125 motorhomes. The reception, café, restaurant and ice cream café are part of the original Hjemsted Ancient Park, and while they are constructed with rustic and natural materials with direct connection to the marsh just outside, they have been modernly-decorated with respect for architecture and origin. There is also a playground and mini-golf course to keep families entertained.

Nature-lovers will enjoy Wadden Sea National Park, which is famous for its spectacular wildlife. It has mudflats and salt marshes and an abundance of birds. The Wadden Sea has been designated a Unesco World Heritage site for its globally-unique geological and ecological value. It's the largest tidal flats system in the world, extending along the coasts of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.

The Marsh Tower will be accessible to everyone as it will be possible to get to the top of the tower by elevator. Further information is available on Visit Denmark's website here.
