If working from home has already gotten boring, MGM Resorts in Nevada has launched a new “work from Las Vegas” package in an attempt to lure in remote workers who are looking for a change of scenery. As fewer travelers are booking hotel stays because of the coronavirus pandemic, hotels are looking for non-traditional ways to bring in guests and recoup some of the money lost during lockdown.

In Las Vegas’ usual over-the-top fashion, MGM is pulling out all the stops at its Bellagio and ARIA properties to spice up your workday in its “Viva Las Office” offer, with full-day poolside cabana rentals, lunch-hour massages, early check-in and late check-out to accommodate office hours, and an executive assistant to help with bookings and activities.

“We understand that working from home every day can become taxing and monotonous, and we are excited to offer a safe and curated experience here at Bellagio and ARIA that combines work and play," Atif Rafiq, president of Commercial and Growth for MGM Resorts, said in a statement. “These packages are designed to offer the best of both worlds: a safe, spacious work setting while still allowing guests to enjoy the amenities and experiences Las Vegas is known for through a single offering.”

MGM has also partnered with private jet service JSX for discounted flights to Las Vegas from Burbank, Orange County, Oakland, Dallas and Seattle, allowing passengers to skip the lines and use private airport terminals for a more socially-distanced experience.

Nevada’s casinos were allowed to reopen from June 4, and Las Vegas’ airport saw more than a million passengers in June, a big drop from last year’s numbers of 4.4 million.

Prices start at US$100 per night excluding resort fees, and the offer is available for mid-week stays until the end of September.
