The hotel’s French restaurant, Bord Eau, will be serving up the 10-course fare on 14 April under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Mansour Memarian. The restaurant will be transformed to replicate the Titanic’s first-class cabin and the cuisine will reflect that of the Edwardian era haute cuisine. In 1912 the Titanic’s menu would have included such items as oysters, filet mignon, roast duck in apple sauce, Waldorf pudding and chocolate eclairs, and meals would have been included in the first-class ticket price fetching around $5000, $124,000 (Dh455,000) in today’s money. In April, however, the Bord Eau’s dinner will cost around Dh406 although customers are still encouraged to dress up for the occasion. Read more: gulfnews.com
