The competition received over 48,000 entries from more than 100 countries around the world, all of them seeking to capture “the incredible diversity of life on our planet”. From those thousands of entries, a committee of experts chose the 19 category winners, as well as the two grand prize winners— the Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

The winning images are currently on exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London until May 2020, when they will leave for a tour of Europe to countries like Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany. In the meantime, entries for next year’s competition are already open and you can find all the information on the official website here, and see a selection of some of this year’s winners in the gallery down below.
