Inti Huasi Cave

Córdoba & the Central Sierras

This wide, shallow cave, the name of which means ‘House of the Sun’ in Quechua, makes an interesting stop, as much for the gorgeous surrounding countryside as the cave itself. Radiocarbon dating suggests that the cave was first inhabited by the Ayampitín some 8000 years ago. There are three regular buses here from Carolina (AR$70, 30 minutes).
